Social media users required by law to register platforms

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – Social media users are required to register the platforms they use with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism after the ministry recently issued a regulation to this effect.

The regulation is aimed at ensuring social media users act responsibly and comply with the laws. This means people using a platform such as a website, Facebook or other channel to provide information and advertisements need to be registered with the ministry.
